Estoril confirmed as venue for the third 2015 round - Winter Series & Test announced


GT Sport today has confirmed that the round of the International GT Open and Euroformula Open foreseen on 23-24 May 2015 at the Nürburgring (Germany) will instead take place at the Circuito do Estoril (Portugal) on 9-10 May. This will mark a return to the beautiful track in the outskirts of Lisbon that the series last visited in 2007, in the era of the Spanish F.3 Championship.


The final 2015 calendar of the Euroformula Open is confirmed as follows:

11-12 April                       Circuito de Velocidad de Jerez de la Frontera (Spain)

24-26 April                       Circuit Paul Ricard, Le Castellet (France)

9-10 May                         Circuito do Estoril (Portugal)

5-7 June                          Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit (United Kingdom)

3-5 July                           Red Bull Ring (Austria)

4-6 September                  Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium)

2-4 October                      Autodromo Nazionale di Monza (Italy)    

30 Oct – 1 Nov                           Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya (Spain)


In parallel, GT Sport has confirmed the Winter Series and Tests, which includes three  events. In Jerez and Barcelona, teams and drivers will have the possibility to test for two consecutive days, while at the Paul Ricard, the second day will include Qualifying and two Races. The date of the Barcelona event has been moved from 16-17 to 12-13 March. The calendar of the Winter Series & Test is confirmed as follows:

20-21 February                 Circuito de Jerez (Spain) – Only testing

6-7 March                       Circuit Paul Ricard, Le Castellet (France) –  Free, Qualifying and two Races on Saturday

12-13 March                    Circuit the Barcelona-Catalunya (Spain) – Only testing
