Two young Euroformula Open guns, Alex Palou (Campos Racing) and Yu Kanamaru (Emilio de Villota Motorsport), were given their first taste of Macau Grand Prix, the most prestigious and iconic Formula 3 race in the world. And Palou and Kanamaru proved the Euroformula Open is a valuable feeder series towards the pinnacle of motorsport. Despite they were making their debut in the streets of the populous Asian city and facing drivers – almost 30- coming from other competitive international series, including the GP2 Series, they almost claimed a top-ten finish. Kanamaru came 13th in the qualifying race and Palou, moving through the field from the back of the grid – he retired in that qualifying race-, finished 16th on Sunday.
