The young Italian gun has finished on top today´s free practice sessions held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Stern (Team West-Tec) and Janosz (RP Motorsport) finished second and third
The Euroformula Open has celebrated today three free practice sessions on the Catalan track and, as always, times were very close. Italy´s Leonardo Pulcini, driving one of the Dallara´s F312 entered by DAV Racing, has topped the cumulative timesheets as he was able to set a time of 1:41.055 in the morning on his official debut in the series. That lap time couldn´t be improved later neither by Yarin Stern (Team West-Tec) nor by Alex Palou (Campos Racing), who finished first respectively in FP2 and FP3. Behind Pulcini Stern was second overall at the end of the day and Janosz third. To note that Janosz and Palou, they both fighting for second position overall, were separated by only 39 thousandths, a small foretaste of what we can for tomorrow.
Apart from Pulcini, other debutants also steadily improved their performances during the day. Michele Beretta (BVM Racing) and Igor Walilko (Team West-Tec) were third and fourth in FP3 and Alession Rovera fifth for Corbetta Competizioni also at the end of the day. Fabian Schiller (Team West-Tec) claimed seventh fastest. Nelson Mason (Emilio de Villota Motorsport) and Igor Urien (DAV Racing), they both making their comeback to the series, also performed pretty well.
