Alex Palou storms to pole position for race one


Campos Racing clinches its first pole position this season with the young Spanish ace. Last year´s vice-champion, Stuvik (RP Motorsport), will start second on the grid after a hard fought battle. Peroni (RP Motorsport) grabbed pole position in Copa

Alex Palou has taken his first pole position for the season opener at Nürburgring, as he was fastest in this morning´s qualifying session. With the track dry, at the wheel of his Dallara F312 of Campos Racing, Palou – a debutant in the series!- has set a lap time of 1:52.572 and it was absolutely unbeatable for anyone else, including Sandy Stuvik (RP Motorsport). Stuvik, who prevented Palou from pole position at Paul Ricard during Winter Series, was 94 thousandths slower and last year runner-up to Ed Jones will start from second place.

Another Thai driver, Tanart Sathienthirakul (Team West-Tec), has finished third and will share row two with his teammate Cameron Twynham. A third Team West-Tec driver, Nicolas Pohler, will start fifth alongside Artur Janosz (RP Motorsport), and Yu Kanamaru (Emilio de Villota Motorsport) was 7th.

Copa saw how Constantino Peroni (RP Motorsport) ended first ahead of his teammate Saud Al Faisal with a second Dallara F308 lined-up by RP Motorsport.
