After the pre-season tests when the young Scottish driver has had a very strong role to evolve the Campos Racing cars, Walkinshaw will take part in the European F3 Open with one of its Dallara F312.
Campos Racing has already confirmed its first driver for next season in the European F3 Open. Sean Walkinshaw, the youngest member of the world famous Walkinshaw motorsport dynasty, will join the team for another exciting season. He was born in Brussels in 1993 but has Scottish nationality like his father.
Walkinshaw debuted in Single Seater racing back in 2011 and his racing career includes participations in the Formula Renault BARC, MRF Formula 1600, JK Racing Series, InterSteps championship, Formula Renault 2.0 NEC or MRF Challenge. In 2013 he competed in the European F3 Open for the first time in the Copa, finishing on the podium twice at the wheel of Team West-Tec Dallara F308. Now he has high expectations driving a Dallara F312.
Walkinshaw recently tested with Campos Racing on circuits like Albacete, Portimao, Jerez, Barcelona and Valencia, assisting in developing the Formula 3 cars for the next season.
Adrián Campos, CEO of Campos Racing, comments that “I would like to say how happy I am that Sean joins us at Campos Racing. Our exhaustive work with him in winter is being valuable. His indispensable assistance, together with our GP2 engineers, proved to be a fact as we were the fastest team on track in Barcelona”.
Throughout the winter tests, in addition to Walkinshaw, Álex Palou, Valeria Carballo, Diego Borrelli or Konstantin Tereschenko have driven Campos Racing cars.
