Harrison Scott (RP Motorsport) posts fastest time in free practice sessions

Series leader Scott emerged fastest from Friday ahead of Troitskiy (Drivex) and Fittje (Fortec). DeFrancesco (Carlin) and Laaksonen (Campos Racing) rounded off the top five

With unexpectedly hot weather the Friday free practice sessions predict two close races ahead at Circuit Paul Ricard. Great Britain’s Harrison Scott (RP Motorsport) managed to set a lap time of 2:01.275 in FP2, two tenths adrift of Russian driver Nikita Troitskiy’s best effort in his Drivex-entered Dallara F312.

Behind, Germany’s Jannes Fittje (Fortec Motorsports) produced a personal best lap of 2:01.694 in FP3 to take 3rd place. Canadian Devlin DeFrancesco (Carlin) recorded the fourth fastest lap time and “The Flying Finn” Simo Laaksonen (Campos Racing) rounded out the top five with his best performance of the season so far on the opening day of Euroformula Open testing.

India’s Ameya Vaidyanathan (Carlin) finished 6th on the timesheets ahead of an impressive Eliseo Martínez (Teo Martín Motorsport), who was also extremely competitive throughout the day. Petru Florescu clocked 8th-fastest lap time in his Campos Racing’s Dallara. Two other newcomers to the series, Alex Karkosik (RP Motorsport) and Christian Hahn (Drivex), also made it into the top-ten.
